END OF YEAR SERVICE
Our End of Year Service took place at St Peter’s Church last Friday, when we had the opportunity to say goodbye to Mrs Brewer and Mrs Webster and to our Year 4 children, who were each presented with a gift from St Peter’s Church.

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY SUMMER SHOW
It was lovely to hear that many of our children (and some of our parents!) took part in the recent Horticultural Society Summer Show.  According to the organisers they were thrilled with the contributions from children at OPS and the handiwork on show was very creative – there is obviously a lot of talent in our community.  Congratulations to those of you who won prizes too!

BOOKS FOR OUR LIBRARY
Thank you to all those families who have kindly donated money towards the purchase of a book for the school library on behalf of their children.  Your support, as always, is much appreciated.

PLANNED SUMMER WORK
No children in school means a great opportunity for us to get jobs done.  When you return in September look out for :
A new “QuietArea”
Re-organised Library
Newly decorated Y1 classrooms

CONGRATULATIONS!
Our after-school Cricket Club entered the local schools cricket festival last week.
One of our teams made it to the final against a team from Glapthorn Primary, but unfortunately the match was called off because of rain.

The final was rescheduled for Tuesday after school and, after an exciting game, Oundle Primary was declared the winner by 39 runs to 32.

A big thank you goes to Kevin Roberts, who has helped run our after-school club.  My thanks also go to the parents who came to support the children.

SPORTS DAY
We were lucky with the weather at our rescheduled Sports Day on Thursday morning and I hope you all had a good time.  The children certainly did!

LIBRARYPLUS
The children had a visit from a member of the Library Service on Wednesday and have been given a leaflet detailing events taking place during the summer holidays.

SUMMER PLAYSCHEME
There are still places available for the Kings Cliffe Playscheme for children aged 3-12 years.  Leaflets have been issued to children but for an information pack, please telephone 01780 470780 or 470138.

CLASSIC BUSKERS
The children all enjoyed a performance on Wednesday afternoon by the Classic Buskers as part of the Oundle International festival currently taking place.  No doubt they have told you all about it and we thank you for your support in helping to fund this outing for your children.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR EXPERIENCES
Please find attached an overview of the extra-curricular experiences we have provided for the children during the last Academic year.  I hope, like us, you are surprised and delighted by the richness of the opportunities provided for your children.

This profile was discussed at a recent Governors’ meeting and the decision was taken to suggest a maximum commitment from parents of £30 per year (excluding the KS2 residential visits, of course) to cover some of the costs of these enrichment experiences.

We will issue forms at the start of next term should you decide you would like to make a one-off payment of £30 at the start of the year or perhaps to make a regular contribution each month.

AND FINALLY …….
We hope that you all have a lovely summer and return to school relaxed and refreshed on Monday 6th September.   For those not returning to us Good Luck with your new school.  Don’t forget all that Oundle Primary has taught you  ~  Being a good person and always trying your best are at least as important as being clever!
